Capture Mechanics

Anatomy of a Catch

Five things stack your catch rate. Miss the first three and you're throwing spheres at a wall. The type chart is your fastest way to drop HP into the red.

The five multipliers — tap any for detail
1

Low HP

Red HP = highest rate. Full-HP catches are very low.

2

Status Stack

Poison · Burn · Stun · Freeze — they add up.

3

Back Strike

Hit from behind. Huge on Pals sleeping at night.

4

Sphere Tier

Higher tier = higher base rate. See ladder below.

5

Capture Power

Lifmunk Effigies at a Statue of Power — permanent.

Resulting catch chance
Full HP · basic sphereRed HP · status · back-strike+ top sphere · Capture Power

On aim, the game shows a capture % — it can climb up to 3× as the sphere shakes. Recall your own Pal first (it can KO the target) and clear nearby wilds (they lower your odds).

Quick rules
Do
  • Recall your active Pal before throwing
  • Exploit the element weakness to hit red HP fast
  • Stack a status, then sneak behind
  • Bank Lifmunk Effigies early — it compounds
  • Ranch a Vixy for passive free spheres
Don't
  • Throw at a full-HP Pal with a basic sphere
  • Let your Pal auto-attack the target to death
  • Fight in a crowd of wild Pals
  • Under-stock — legendaries eat hundreds of throws
  • Waste top-tier spheres on trash mobs
Pal Sphere ladder — unlock level · catch rate · target Pal level

"Pal" ranges are the rough target-Pal level each sphere handles well — approximate, since HP, status, back-strike, and Capture Power all shift the real rate. Craft the highest tier you've unlocked and carry a deep stock; save Legendary+ for high-level, full-HP, or legendary targets.

Combat Matchups

Elemental Type Chart

Strong hits deal 2× (red numbers in-game), weak hits 0.5×. Fire is the only element that counters two types. Dots mark each element; the attacker beats the elements to its right.

Dual-weak stack — both of a Pal's elements weak to one attack.
Cancellation — one element weak, the other resists = neutral.
1.2× STAB — move matches the attacker's own element.
Player weapons = Neutral — weak into Dark; ride a conversion mount to fix it.
Status combo — Water "Drenched" amplifies follow-up Electric.
Ranch Production

Ranch Guide — what each Pal drops

Drop a Pal with a Farming suitability into a Ranch and it produces its item passively — wool, milk, eggs, honey, berries, gold, ammo, cloth and elemental organs. Stack several of one producer for a self-running supply base. Tap any card for the what / why / when / how.

Elemental organs — element gear, ammo & thermal armor

A ranch Pal only works if it has the Farming suitability — check the Pal before you drop it in. Pair a Mau Cryst gold ranch with a captured merchant to buy anything you'd rather not farm, and keep a Transport Pal hauling drops to chests so producers never stall.

Work Suitability — who does what

Every base Pal has work suitabilities that decide its jobs. The ★ pick is the standout for each — alts are strong backups. Community reference.

Fastest work — stack a suitability rank with a work-speed passive
+50% Artisan
+75% Remarkable Craftsmanship
+90% Demon's Hand

Raise a Pal's suitability rank with the Pal Essence Condenser (condense duplicates) or Starfruit (Medal Merchants · PIDF Bounty Officers). Boost work speed at the Statue of Power (Pal Souls) and the Pal Labor Research Laboratory. Use the Monitoring Stand to lock a Pal to one job by unchecking the rest.

Suitability Books

Skill Books — where to farm

Applied Technique Books raise a Pal's work-suitability level. A Pal needs Lv1+ in a skill already to use its book — you can't give Fire to a pure Water type.

Legendary Treasure Maps are the fastest source — each dig gives 3 matching books. Farm the Feybreak pirate ship + faction bases for maps, or drop the Supply-Drop timer to minimum for a passive stream.

Star Ranks

Condensing & Starfruit

Raise a Pal's star rank for stronger stats & partner skills. Ripe Awakening Starfruit = instant +1★ at any level; tier Starfruits must be used in order.

Don't waste fruit on early ranks — the Pal Condenser hits 1★ with 4 dupes and 2★ with +16. Save Ripe Awakening Starfruits to skip the brutal 3★ (32) and 4★ (64) sacrifice walls.

Efficiency

Farming Loops & Expeditions

The fastest repeatable loops for the grind materials — star ranks, Ancient Cores, skill books, gold, Polymer, spheres — plus how Pal Expeditions (dispatch) hand you loot passively. Tap any card for the full loop.

Rule of thumb: automate the passive sources (ranches, the Recycler, expeditions) and only actively grind the one currency you're short on. Never sacrifice dupes for 3★/4★ when a Ripe Starfruit skips the wall.

Inventory

Item Categories — what's in each chest tab

The game's actual inventory & chest sort buckets, and what each one holds. Note Consumable is a broad catch-all. Dump Materials at base to stay under weight.

Items are weight-limited — over-weight slows you to a crawl. Offload to Item Chests, keep a Transport Pal shuttling, and carry only ammo, meds, food, and spheres on expeditions. Raise carry capacity at the Statue of Power.

World Map

Recommended Zone Levels

Where to go and when. Colors run green (safe) → red (deadly) by the level you can enter. Each zone lists Day/Night enemy elements, the Pal Sphere tier to pack, counter Pals to bring, mounts found there, and any Alpha bosses (α). Alphas have huge HP — bring a tier above the zone's normal sphere and hammer HP to red before you throw. Click any zone for a full detail popup.

Difficulty ramp
Lv 1 · safe startLv 25 · mid-gameLv 50 · endgame
1–15 starter 16–29 early-mid 30–39 late 40+ endgame

Ranges from the community level-zone map. Bring the biome gear before you go — heat-resist for the volcano & desert, cold-resist for the snow. Match your counter mount to the zone's Pals (see the other boards).

Party Synergy

Pal Team Synergies

Party buffs stack even when Pals aren't deployed. Mono-species stacks spike DPS; utility parties rewrite breeding and capture math. Community reference.

Three levers drive team power: partner skills (buff your lead Pal / the player just by being in the party — level them up), passive skills (inherited via breeding), and type diversity (cover more boss weaknesses). Stacked-buff teams melt single bosses; mixed teams handle the unknown.

Trade

Merchant Field Guide

Coat color = type. Standard traders take Gold; special vendors want their own currency. Capture any of them (Hanging Trap + high-tier Sphere) to shop from home.

Refresh a captured merchant's rotating stock by depositing them into your Pal Box and pulling them back out. Pair a home marketplace with a Mau Cryst gold ranch for endless organ & item buys.

Crafting

Ore & Material Sheet

Every material gates a tier of gear, spheres or base tech. Ores refine in a furnace; drops come from mobs, Alpha bosses and dungeons.

Mining team: Anubis / Astegon (Lv3–4 Mining) smash nodes fast; Digtoise + its Headband pulverizes heavy metal. Add a Transport Pal for a fully automated ore base.

Pal Surgery

Trait Modules — where to unlock

Build the Surgery Table (Lv36/38), unlock a module once, then inject it into any Pal for gold. Rainbow (Tier-4) traits can't be injected — capture the Legendary and breed them down.

Breeding mechanics

Breeding 101 — Cakes, Combi & Passives

Breeding isn't random — the baby's species is a fixed average of both parents, and passives roll from both parent pools. That's how you build a Pal you can't catch and stack four god-tier traits onto it. Cake is the fuel that runs the whole loop. Tap any card for the what / why / when / how.

Golden loop: automate Cake → pair parents that between them carry the 4 passives you want → keep the best baby → re-pair. A Philanthropist parent halves egg time; an Electric Incubator adds 1.5× hatch speed on top.

Breeding compendium

Breeding a Specific Pal

Everything for getting an exact Pal: the combi-rank method (reaches anything — use a calculator), the fixed unique combos, how to farm Alpha (boss) versions, and how legendaries work. Tap any card for detail.

The average method reaches every standard Pal; unique combos are the fixed exceptions (mostly elemental variants); legendaries can't be bred from other species — capture the Alpha, then self-breed. Always confirm exact pairings on a live calculator for your version — DLC can add or shift entries.

Base building

Breeding Base Blueprint

Three concentric zones around the Palbox on flat ground floor — Pals pathfind badly vertically and clip on tight geometry. Layout first, then staff the 15-Pal autopilot roster.

Anti-glitch: never multi-story; No-Pass fence the back of pens so breeders stop escaping. Feed workers Salad (work-speed buff), breeders Jam Buns (sanity). Electric Incubators (Lv36) need a High-Tier Generator + one Orserk w/ Nocturnal for 24/7 power.

Base management

Base Health & Pal Care

Keep base Pals fed, sane and uninjured — the difference between a base that runs itself and one that spirals into lazy, sick, starving workers. Cooked food for Sanity, glitch-proof layout, rest structures, a medical station, and the ranch feed-box trick. Tap any card for detail.

Sanity (SAN) is the hidden stat that breaks bases: low SAN → laziness, overeating, then injuries. Cooked Salad, Fluffy/Large beds and Hot Springs keep it topped up; a Medicine Workbench + Medicine Pal cleans up anything that slips through.
